The New Jersey Association of Independent Schools (NJAIS) is the collective voice of independent schools throughout the state of New Jersey. It promotes and supports educational, ethical, and professional excellence in member schools. NJAIS celebrates the depth, breadth, and diversity of its schools, and works to protect their independence through advocacy at the local, state, and federal levels.
The mission of the New Jersey Association of Independent Schools is advanced through:
- Ongoing communication and cooperation among member schools
- The sponsorship of a broad program of professional development opportunities for teachers, administrators, and trustees
- An evaluation and accreditation program that stimulates continued improvement in member schools
- Efforts to protect the independence, and respect the diversity of member schools
- Coordination of NJAIS efforts with those of other associations, organizations, and agencies in the broader educational community and with State and Federal entities
- Effective and beneficial relationships with State and Federal governments
